Transmit & Receive Path Diplexers

Design
Using specialized bespoke modeling software and high speed computing power, customized product development time scales are remarkably fast. By entering specification parameters onto a computer the complete model can be produced ready for drawing within hours. The accuracy and repeatability of this process is most important, and Andrew has developed and refined this over many years.
Manufacturing
Taking the computerized model, the final hardware is manufactured using high speed, high accuracy, state-of-the art CNC machines. With extremely high tolerances, Andrew is able to reproduce the design, in many cases without the need for any post tuning. Eliminating tuning saves time and leads to a more reliable product in the field. Andrew is ideally suited for both low- and high-volume manufacture of diplexers with fast turnaround on customer specifications and high yield. Where most diplexers are specifically designed around customer specification, Andrew works with customers for a complete solution. New and innovative ideas are constantly being developed to increase efficiency of manufacture and improve the lead time of the design process.

Features
Particular features of the diplexers in Andrew's product range are low insertion loss (typically less than 1.2 dB), stability over a wide operating temperature range (130 degrees) and the reliable long term performance. Particularly stringent performance requirements can be accommodated, even at the highest operational frequencies.

Telecommunications Diplexers
Andrew has been developing telecommunications diplexers for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications since 1998. The company has produced many variants that are at the heart of communications systems around the world today. Of primary concern is designing and effiiciently producing a pre-tuned, accurate, and reliable product. Very often a low pass filter is incorporated within the body to eliminate harmonic frequencies from interfering with the radio reception and transmission bands. Andrew diplexers can be machined from copper or aluminum, soldered or brazed together, and plated or painted to provide a protective environmental seal. Each diplexer contains a series of irises and cavities in a precise configuration designed to meet individual specifications.

Product Range
Typical frequency coverage is from 10 to 48 GHz with particular emphasis on the microwave link bands centered around 13, 15, 18, 23, 26, 28, 31 and 38 GHz. Development of diplexers outside these bands is possible, and Andrew has the capability to design and test diplexers from 350 MHz up to 75 GHz.

Solutions
Andrew offers other communication components for radio links such as flexible waveguide to link the radio to the antenna, hot standby couplers to protect the radio on key communication links, rigid waveguide assemblies, horn antennas, power splitters/combiners, and transmit/receive filters.
