Veraz Softswitch — ControlSwitch

Smooth migration to the Multimedia Generation Network

The Veraz ControlSwitch is a converged TDM and IP softswitch, enabling service providers to smoothly migrate their network to a multimedia network, whether the network is a legacy, TDM based network, a first generation softswitch network, or a greenfield build. The ControlSwitch is highly distributed to enable service providers to determine the optimal placement of resources, while providing centralized control for maximum flexibility in deployment and contained operational costs. Built on the IMS standards, the ControlSwitch provides the building blocks that service providers need to move their networks to true Multimedia Networks, quickly and cost-effectively.

The ControlSwitch can be configured for transit applications, enabling interconnection of any mix of traditional and IP-based voice networks, as well as end-user applications, delivering multimedia services to end-users.

— Cost-effective scalability and deployment configuration flexibility

  • Multi-tiered, highly scalable, distributed software system executed on commercial SUN servers
  • Distributed ControlSwitch elements interconnected over an underlying IP data network
  • High scalability in granular increments -- yielding an optimized solution for both initial and large-scale deployments.
  • A turnkey solution including an administrative GUI and HTML self care portal for smaller or greenfield deployments
  • Programmatic interfaces including TL1 and SOAP/XML for the integration into the service provider's existing OSS/BSS for streamlined operations

— Single point of management for network-wide deployments including end-to-end CDR and call tracing for minimized OPEX

  • A single point of management for configuration, provisioning, and system monitoring, including realtime alarms, performance statistics and traffic reports
  • A single view of the Call Detail Records (CDR) and end-to-end call tracing as an invaluable troubleshooting tool

— Geographic redundancy for high availability and disaster recovery

— Approval compliances and full standards support for full interoperability: ITU, ANSI, ETSI, Telcordia, IETF, TISPAN, IMS, MSF

— QoS to enable customizable SLAs for service differentiation

  • Realtime collection of detailed statistics used for VoIP traffic prioritization and bandwidth utilization control
  • Customizable SLAs -- per customer, per interconnection partner, per service, etc.

— Access and Device independence to maximize service reach

  • Enables a user to change to different devices connected to one or more access networks to gain access to their services
  • Reconfigures user services to be suitable for a determined network and device
